Luxton Littles - 2018

Yesterday, I got to spend the afternoon with Jessica and Shane's littles. They were what every kid should be at 5pm in the spring: running happy outside with muddy feet. I love taking these kinds of photos. I don't disturb the curiosity and the energy that has been penned up in the kids all day long. Let them wander around and chase after each other. Once the camera came out, they turned into little hams for about 5 seconds before they lost interest and wanted to play. After being indoors all day, it was a prefect ending to my day.

If I had my children to raise over again: I’d build self-esteem first and the house later...
I’d finger paint more and point the finger less...
I would do less correcting and more connecting...

I’d take my eyes off my watch and watch with my eyes. I would care to know less and know to care more. I’d take more hikes and fly more kites...
I’d do more hugging and less tugging. I’d see the oak tree in the acorn more often...
I’d stop laying serious and seriously play. I would run through more fields and gaze at more stars...
I would be firm less often and affirm much more. I’d model less about the love of power and more about the power of love.
